Online education courses set for early childhood

DURHAM -- Durham's Partnership for Children has received a $35,250 grant to launch early-childhood courses through distance online learning.

The program, called Learner Link-Durham County, is intended to help with professional development for early-childhood educators.

About 30 educators will be able to take the Internet courses in the program's early phase, with the program expanding to reach more than 2,000 people by spring 2006.

The funds come from the North Carolina Partnership for Children's private grant fund and from Wachovia.
