Seeking out a course at the Institute of Distance Education (IDE) will become
simple for students from next year, when Mumbai University (MU) goes online.
This will benefit both the staff and students of MU.
Director of IDE, Dr S D Pawar, confirmed that the staff had an intense workload,
with 61,000 applications received this year for courses offered by IDE.
Dr Pawar said: “We have appointed a team of temporary staff to help the regular
staff to dispatch the processing of applications for the courses. This will
help tide over the problem this year. Things are going according to schedule
and the students will not suffer.”
“We had instituted a committee headed by former pro-vice chancellor, MU, and
the Vice Chancellor of Nasik University, principal A P Pradhan, to review the
problem. He has recommended a few changes that will be implemented next year,”
said Vice-Chancellor Dr Vijay Khole.
